USFL Background

The United Services Football League (USFL) was formed 1897 to promote and encourage competitive football in and around the Portsmouth Area. Membership is open to teams from Royal Navy (HM Ships, shore Establishments and other units of the Royal Navy), units of the Regular Army, units of the Royal Air Force, units of Local Constabularies, units of Local Government Services, and Civilian teams associated to military establishments. All teams must be affiliated to their district Football Association authority i.e. Royal Navy FA, Hampshire FA, etc. Although a multi-service league the USFL is administered and lead by the Royal Navy Football Association.
