Stapenhill lose away record in the only match played.

In the midweek bottom of the table clash, Ratby Sports managed to post their 1st win in 7 starts as they crushed bottom placed Rothley Imps 5-1, who now find themselves 11 points adrift after their 5th defeat on the spin. Carl Gilbert and Sam Craig set the Sports up for their 2nd home win after Wayne Smart had kept the Imps in with a chance after the score stood at 2-1 at half time, but a 2nd half hat trick from Matt Shuter gave the Sports their 1st points in 3 starts.

The only Premier game to survive the weather at the weekend featured the leaders Stapenhill at Barrow Town with very little to chose between the 2 sides up to half time. However, the Swans have not appeared to be firing all cylinders during the 1st half, since their enforced Christmas lay off, doing most of their damage after the break. Although the Town looked the better side going forward during the 2nd half, it came as no surprise when the Swans took the lead, just before the hour, through Rob Winson. However, the Town stepped up to the plate, and with 15 minutes to go Barrow?s leading scorer Carl Adams snatched the equaliser, and with 5 minutes to go the same player was brought down for a penalty, which was duly converted by Adam Turner for a Barrow 2-1 victory, Stapenhill?s 1st away defeat of the season that sees their lead at the top reduced to 8 points with 2 games more played. Barrow?s reward is to step up into 4th spot.
