The last two games in Everards Brewery Division One were played in the past week and saw Ingles Development consolidate fourth place. Last Saturday, they welcomed runners-up Leicester Atletico to Thringstone, and Ingles took a 2-0 lead through goals from Louis Clarke and Will Musson. However, Atletico mounted a comeback in the final quarter of an hour, an OG pulling one back before sub Sokariya Mohamud scored the equaliser in the final minutes, final score 2-2. Atletico finish the season in second, two points ahead of third-placed Hinckley LR Reserves, five points behind champions Anstey Town, who could increase their lead further still depending on the outcome of their postponed game at home to Sutton Bonington.
Tuesday night saw Ingles Development sign off for the campaign as they defeated bottom side Barrow Town Reserves 4-2 at Homestead Road. Louis Clarke, Harrison Griffiths, Lucas Turrell and Oliver Unwin scored for Ingles, Tom Antill and Liam Stafford for Barrow, who finish 14 points adrift of safety and look set to be relegated to Everards Brewery Division Two next season, with their first team also facing the trap door into Div1, Tuesday night completing a season to forget for the Riversiders. Ingles finish fourth, but well adrift of the automatic promotion places.
That rounds off the action on the field across the 3 Divisions for 2023-24. We'll be back later in the week with a double bill, Andy Grout at the Nanpantan Sports Ground for the Everards Tiger League Cup final between Allexton and New Parks and Aylestone Park Reserves, whilst I will be at Holmes Park covering the last of the County Cup finals for 2023-24, completing our rambles for this season. See you then.
