There were goals galore in Everards Brewery Division One, quite the contrast to the action in the Prem. Loughborough Students Development thumped Ingles Development 5-0 at Thringstone on Saturday, Aden Brazil (2), Shaun Barwuah, James Clark and Aled Willan their scorers. Hinckley LRFC Development inflicted a 2-1 defeat on visitors Loughborough Dynamo, Jayden Haines and sub Parker Goutta for Road, Rame Gjeraj for Dynamo.
There were no fewer than three seven-goal thrillers. Up the Stute, visitors Heather St John Reserves came out on top 4-3 at Holwell Sports Reserves, a brace of braces in the second half for Sam Hankin and Kye Wooldridge, after Max Fisher had given Holwell the lead on the stroke of half-time- Fisher scored again for Holwell in the second period, along with Freddie Young, but it was to be no more than consolation for Holwell. 4-3 was also the final score at St Patricks, and again it was the home side who lost, with away team Saffron Dynamo Development the winners, Alfie Jameson (2), Callum Jarman and sub Kerry Effah Adu the Saffron scorers, Daniel Arnold, Matthew Baird and Jack Hickey on the scoresheet for Pats. It wasn't quite so close at Kirby, where Kirby Muxloe Reserves beat Sutton Bonington 5-2, Joe Kerins (2), Ewan Lilleyman, Tyler Love and sub Fin Piper the scorers for Kirby, Luke Robinson and Jack Tormey for Sutton.
Elsewhere, Mountsorrel Amateurs and Dunton & Broughton United both recorded their first wins of the season. Mountsorrel won 3-2 at home to Lutterworth Athletic Reserves, Oliver Rowley and two goals for Anderson Tomas seemed to have Mountsorrel in cruise control, but Oliver Whiting's quick-fire double for the visitors set up a nervy finish, Mountsorrel hanging on for the points. Charlie Galley and Rohan Bamber gave Dunton the points in their 2-1 win at home to Sileby Town Reserves, Joseph Diorio for Sileby, that result ending a 17-match winless streak for Dunton going back to December.
The winless streak meanwhile continues for Barrow Town. They had to come from behind on Saturday at Birstall United Reserves, Emmanuel Kambulu scoring twice in the first half for Birstall, before Blake Boulter and Shakour Benjamin found the net for Barrow after the break to give them a share of the points, 2-2 the final score. However, that didn't end Barrow's winless run, which now stands at 21 games, stretching back to November and a County Cup triumph against Khalsa for their last win.
Everards Brewery Division Two saw all the teams who were leading at half-time emerge as winners at full-time. Charvin Ambhire's hat-trick and Alexandru Muteanu gave Leicester Nirvana Reserves a 4-3 win at home to Magna 73 Reserves, Sam Shenton (2) and Spencer Read for Magna. George Fry's hat-trick along with a single strike from George Parker gave Glen Villa a 4-0 win at Hinckley Borough, whilst Chris Galley and Abulay Sillah gave Highfield Rangers Reserves a 2-1 win at Barrow Town Reserves, Joe Turner for Barrow.
Jonathan Powell-Hayles (3) and Leo Lightbown found the net for Brookside Athletic as they won 4-1 at home to Whetstone Athletic, Ryan Richmond for Whetstone. Up at Beauchamp College in Oadby, Jaseem Khamkar, Adam Modan and Usamah Zerroug scored for Community Football Academy, as they won 3-0 at home to Loughborough FC. And finally for this week, Coby Keeling and Jaakeem Martin scored either side of the break as Friar Lane & Epworth Reserves won 2-0 at Leicester United.
That's it for this weekend on Ramble Round. There's no games in midweek this week, so we'll be back next weekend for the best of the action and see what shape the League tables are starting to take. See you then.
