NAPIT Sunday League Report

On a day when the league fixtures were hit by the weather with many games being postponed just two games went ahead in ONE including leaders Hasland Devonshire’s at Clowne Wanderers which they won by four goals to two, Danny Claridge scoring one and Lee Clay hit a hat trick to take his total to twenty-one for the season. The victory also extended Devonshire’s lead to six points. Creswell Black Diamond won the division’s other game by three goals to one at Hopflower Utd, Marc Wood, Ryan Newbold and Ben Smith the scorers.

The biggest game of the season so far in TWO saw leaders FC Utd of Bolsover take on second placed New Whitt who both began the day unbeaten so far.. As was expected there was little to choose between the two sides but two goals from Ashley Cheatham handed Utd the win, moving them three points clear at the top. Shaun Marsden and Josh Graveson were in fine form for Creswell Black Diamond Reserves as they eased to a 5-0 win over Clowne Wanderers Reserves with Marsden hitting a hat trick,, Graveson a brace. Brampton Rovers JMA entertained Dronfield Victoria and duly beat them by three goals to nil, James Roberts scoring twice, Ash Barber once.

In THREE leaders Renishaw MW extended their lead to seven points over second placed Newbold as they beat Hady Villa 4-1 whilst Newbold drew 1-1 at Hollingwood Athletic. Renishaw’s victory came thanks to goals from Dan Talbot, Jamie Plewecki Gavin, Poulton and an own goal. Callum Dovison hit the Newbold goal which was cancelled by Athletic’s Dale Beech. Chris Cave twice, Oliver Shelton, Tim Garfoot and Rob Kelly once scored for Red Lion Whittington Moor as the outplayed Brimington Utd to win 5-1 whilst Oaks FC drew 1-1 with Ark Tavern, Jack Howells scoring for Oaks, Carl White for Tavern. A good point this for bottom side Tavern against third placed Oaks.

Second placed NAPIT FIVE side Harleys Scarlets recorded an impressive victory over Gardeners Clay Cross, winning by five goals to nil. In the goals in the win were Jimmie Brough and Matt Wild who both scored twice and Ryan Hutchinson who scored goal number five. Two goals from North Wingfield Gate Inn’s Dave Kirk added to Glapwell Gladiators woes as they eclipsed one from Sam Canning, earning Gate the points.

An excellent game in SIX saw leaders Whitecotes Wanderers held to a 3-3 draw by Furnace Hill Hurricanes. Pete Stubley, Keith Parks and Dave O’Hare scored for Furnace Hill, Craig Megyesi twice and Liam Scott for Wanderers. Hasland WMC and Castle Arms also drew, this time 2-2, whilst AFC Steelmelters were beaten 2-1 by Woodthorpe Wanderers, Chris Bluff and Danny Elliott scoring the winning goals.

In SEVEN second placed Brimington Club took on bottom side Renishaw Rangers TFC and just shaded the game with an odd goal in nine victory. Paul Buxton scored twice, Cameron Hutton, Reece Nuttall and Daniel Woodhouse for Club, Josh Atkinson twice, Mark Johnson and Ryan Kasprzycki for TFC. Spartans 2nds were the league's highest scorers of the day as they thrashed Britannia Tupton 8-1. Anchor Clowne just edged out New Bolsover Social Club in a much closer game, Jack Martin deciding it in Anchor’s favour whilst finally Ye Olde Nags Head and Dronfield Town drew 2-2,
