Hasland, New Inn Newton and North Wingfield MW progress to Cup Finals

The NAPIT League’s cup competitions first semi- finals took place on Sunday with Hasland reaching the Dey and Co Alma Final, New Inn Newton the Ace Sports Chatsworth Final and North Wingfield MW the ACL Hutson Final. Hasland took on Killamarsh Juniors Athletic looking to reach their second final of 2012/13 having already booked a place in the Derbyshire Senior Sunday Cup Final and thanks to goals from Gaz Davey, Ant Lynam and Mark Needham that’s exactly what they did. The Chatsworth semi between New Inn Newton and AFC Bolsover was still deadlocked after ninety minutes and extra time with New Inn holding their nerve to win the penalty shoot-out. In the Hutson goals from Shane Dickens, Ritchie Henson and Scott Heggarty saw North Wingfield MW end Chesterfield Phoenix hopes of reaching the final.

AFC Walton have completely dominated NAPIT THREE all season having won thirteen from thirteen starts prior to Sunday’s visit to Poolsbrook to play Staveley All Inn and win number fourteen was duly achieved by a seven goals to two margin, the victory confirming them as Champions.

Up in NAPIT ONE a nail biter at Doe Lea Villa saw Martin Newman hit a last minute equaliser for Bolsover Town. Earlier Dave Canning had scored twice for Villa, Dave Chambers and Chris Dickens one with Neil Ashley twice and Steve Johnson doing likewise for Town. Creswell Seniors and Hepthorne Lane drew 1-1 whilst goals from Knowles and Wilson saw Eckington Boys win 2-1 at Brampton Rovers.

In NAPIT TWO Clowne Wanderers continue to inch their way to the title, picking up three more points courtesy of a 3-0 at bottom club Oxcroft MW, Ben Careless scoring twice, Richardson once. Killamarsh Juniors moved up to second following their 3-2 success over Brampton Rovers JMA, Edge with one Kamara with two goals. Scott Marshall’s goal was enough to earn New Whitt an excellent 1-0 win at Barrow Hill MC.

The ball hit the back of the net on no fewer than ten occasions in the NAPIT FOUR clash between Spital and Dronfield Woodhouse, six of them in Spital’s net of which Mottram scored three for Woodhouse. A closer game at Red Lion Whitt Moor saw the hosts beat Pilsley 2-1, Luke and Nathan Linacre the match winners.

In FIVE bottom side Palterton Sporting picked up a point at fellow strugglers Gate Inn North Wingfield in a game which ended goal less, the point however was enough to move them up a place in the table with Brimington Utd dropping into the wooden spoon position. Harleys Scarlets just edged out Butchers Arms Spartans 2-1, Masefield and Hutchinson the scorers whilst Birchall and Nunn were on target for Goldminers in a 2-1 win at Railway Club Athletic.

Third placed New Whitt B looked to be favourites to beat opponents Clowne Wanderers Reserves in SIX, beginning the day fifteen points better off and four places higher in the table but there was a twist as Wanderers cruised to an emphatic 8-1 victory in which Robson and Rogers both scored hat tricks. Bull and Badger’s K Gage also scored three in his side’s 5-2 win over Brimington Club.

Barlow Kingston Rovers finished their season’s campaign on a high with a 2-1 win at Birdholme 2NDS in NAPIT SEVEN, Chris George scoring both goals.

In EIGHT another ten goal game took place with the honours ending even as Grassmoor Sports Reserves drew 5-5 with Holmebrook Tavern 2NDS. Scott Chambers hit three for Sports but Danny O’Donnel went one better for Tavern with four goals. John Wood scored twice as Brampton Brewery beat AFC Grouse 2-1 whilst Britannia Tupton beat Oxcroft Utd 3-1, Smith, Henry and Cox hitting the winning goals.
