The wet weather heaped more misery on the NAPIT Sunday League as only four of a scheduled twenty-four games went ahead, along with the postponement of the Derbyshire Junior Sunday Cup Semi-Final between Steelmelters and Woodthorpe Inn which will now take place on the sixteenth.

Clowne Wanderers game against Brampton Rovers did go ahead with Rovers, who had not won and had only collected one point from their previous ten NAPIT ONE games making the journey to Clune Street. Wanderers began as favourites but after a spirited Rovers display they had to settle for a draw as a Ben Carless goal was cancelled out by Craig Martin’s goal for Rovers.

After several pitch inspections Beechers Brooks Poolsbrook ground was deemed playable by the referee and it was visitors Hollingwood Athletic who profited by winning the game by two goals to one to move above their hosts in THREE. Athletic’s goals came from Hopkinson and Lynas with Bray on target for Beechers.

If the previous two games were close fought affairs the NAPIT FOUR game between Pilsley and Chesterfield Arms certainly was not as the host were rampant, winning the game by ten goals to nil. Substitute Alex Prior was the man of the match as he hit five of the winning goals, Ryan Kerlin scored twice with Chris Cave, Paul Mildenhall and Ryan Warsop also on target.

In FIVE bottom club Brimington Utd took on second from bottom Spital and took the lead as Jordan Renshaw found the net. However Spital were level by half time, Stray scoring from the penalty spot. Spital then took the lead in the second half through Horner with Stray clinching the victory, scoring a second time from the spot.
