ELL OF A HATRICK FOR ELLIOTT

With a nearly full squad at his disposal there were some team selection posers for Manager Steve Dean, regular central midfield duo Ian Hudson and Chrissy Sinclair returned from injury Craig Lowther and Declan Tilson being the ones to miss out from the previous game against Wardles. Callum Wade and David Mullen also returned to the squad.

Christie Elliott capped off a great performance with a superbly taken hatrick this was after Robertsons fell behind to a goal that was touch and go whether it was offside or not but Christie Elliott quickly levelled and then Darryll Donnelly scored the first of his two goals but again West Park levelled to make it 2-2. Darryll Donnelly was having a great game both at the back and when he popped up in front of goal.

Robertsons then completely dominated the game with Jonny Matthews and Brian Johnson causing the West Park fullbacks all sorts of problems. Chrissy Sinclair was running the show in midfield and Christie Elliotts link up play with the midfield and Dave Smith upfront was superb. The back four of Dan Purvis, Dan Smith, Darryl Donnelly and Wayne Henry kept Keeper Aaron Todd well protected but when Toddy was called into action he was confident with his decision making. Dave Smith had to come off injured and this meant a reshuffle with Callum Wade coming on to play on the wing and Brian Johnson being pushed upfront.

When Jonny Matthews got the fourth it was game over and the fitness and class of the Robertsons team over West Park shone through. The second of Christie Elliotts three goals was a class strike giving West Park Keeper Daniel Moore no chance. Then Christie Elliott got a well deserved hatrick when he coolly rounded the keeper to make it 6-2.
