Cambridgeshire County League Statement on Refereeing.

Many thanks to those of you who have voiced your concerns over the current lack of referees, Cambs FA and the Cambridgeshire County League are just as concerned at the situation we find ourselves in currently. The County FA have recently appointed a full-time Referees Development Officer, Sam Anderson (Sam.Anderson@CambridgeshireFA.com ), to help recruit and develop more referees within the County.

The County FA are also contacting all officials who have chosen so far, not to re-register for the 2018/19 season, to encourage and support, in order to help bring them back into the game.

We also have a number of Referee Courses booked and filling up before the end of November, including one at Isleham United FC, which the Cambridgeshire County League are funding, for those individuals who wish to referee on our County League.

If you are interested in becoming a referee, and want to take up the offer, then please contact Sam, on the contact details above, who will happily book you onto the course.

There are a number of things that clubs can do to help support us in this matter:
• Look after the referees we have, make sure they leave you feeling up for next week's game.
• Look out for any people who could become referees and pass their contact details to us.
• And look out for any referees that have dropped out and try and encourage them back into the game, even if it's just for the short term or the odd game or two.

In the meantime, we will appoint those referees we do have across all divisions as fairly as possible whilst we work on recruiting more officials to the game.

Thank you for your continued support.
