Belated congratulations to Woodhouse Park who won their way into the next round of the Altrincham FA Sunday cup last week, due to their late report they did not get a mention in last weeks round up. They came from behind when their opponents Altrincham Torpedoes took an early lead. Harry Goddard-Hessing from a Callum Stewart through ball levelled the scores. Stewart again provided the pass for Roman Horne’s goal to give Woodhouse the lead. Stewart then took the role of goal scorer with a cross-cum shot. The half ended with Goddard Hessing netting his second goal. Horne then made it 5-1 with his second goal again from a Stewart pass. Bailey Pearson got the next two, his first a header after a Stewart free kick had hit the post his second a shot from inside the area. A powerful header from Danny Pearson made it 8-1. A lapse in Woodhouse’s defence allowed the Torpedoes to net their second. It was left to Thomas Goddard-Hessing to end the scoring with his hat trick goal.

Offerton Green took an early lead in their game away to Stockport Vikings, James Webb the scorer. A mix up in the Offy defence allowed Vikings to draw level then on the half hour a shot from Aiden Dwyer hit team mate Wasim Akram and flew into the net. Five minutes before half time Tyrone Turner sent Webb through for his second goal. A penalty for the Vikings reduced the arrears but following a good inter passing movement Wasim Akram put the game to bed with Offy’s fourth goal.
Northenden FC shared the points with a 1 all draw at Stockport Cosmos. Northenden’s goal was scored by Jordan Thompson from the spot after Tom Franks had been fouled, Cosmos haven’t provided any details of their scorer.
Romiley had a comfortable victory over County Supporters, scorers were Ashnie Harvey (5), Carl Pendlebury (2) and a Bobby Lofthouse penalty. .
No reports from County Supporters, Stretford Vics, Cheadle, Winton or Railway.
The top game in Division Two saw Stockport Orion lose their unbeaten record against Edgeley Villa. Villa drew first blood when a move between Dave Herbert and Rick Kelly put Oli Burgess through to score. Orion punished Villa when they failed to clear the ball leaving Sam Chambers to score his ninth goal of the season. Villa’s immediate response saw Kelly put them back in front, then following a four man move Kelly got his second to complete the first half scoring. It was then the turn on Villa’s keeper Paul Dalton who denied the Orion sharp shooters on more than one occasion with excellent stops. The final goal of the game showed how cruel it can be especially for the keepers. A shot from the edge of the Orion area by Jack Atkinson took a wicked deflection to give the home keeper no chance.
Edgeley Villa Hatters had a great start when Liam Ellis on his debut gave them the lead at home to Hr. Poynton with a looping shot over keeper Jack Chignell. Rob Stokoe had a great chance to get Poynton level but blazed his spot kick over the bar. It was left to Poynton’s top scorer Marcus Graham to clinch the points with his brace in a hard fought game.
Both Didsbury Reds and Wythenshawe Wanderers found it hard to play good football on a very muddy pitch, the only goal of the first half came when Craig McMillan put Teddy Bramwell through to put the Reds in front. Play switched from end to end before cool play from Franklin Siband found Charles Clark who from the edge of the area scored what could be the Reds goal of the season. Credit to the visitors after they had found the home net they went looking for an equaliser but were kept at bay by solid defending.
Reddish Phoenix move into second place following their win away at Woodhouse Park, there was not a lot to write home about in a drab game, Colm Burke giving Phoenix the half time lead when he poked the ball home from close range. The second was a shot from outside the area by James Davis. A well-judged chip from Lewis Findlow found the head of Liam Hindle for the third and final goal.
Cheshire Milkmen and Adswood featured in an interesting five all draw. The Milkmen raced into a three nil lead with goals from Sam Deering, Freddie Marston and Will Shirt. Adswood hit back and reduced the deficit to one by half time with goals from Arron and Ant Cowley. Early in the second half Adswood drew level with a Callum Neill goal. Poor defending by the Adswood defence saw Jordan Barry put the Milkmen back in front. It looked curtains for Adswood when the home side were awarded a penalty, keeper Patrick Rigg parried Matt Seery’s kick but it fell kindly to the kicker to score his side’s fifth goal. From the kick off Aiden Smyth spotted the keeper off his line and found the back of the home net with an audacious kick. Still keeping up the pressure Alex Bradshaw made it 5-5 with his goal. The Milkmen had a player sent off but held on to share the spoils.
Cheadle Hulme Galaxy won away at Eden Park. Cameron Leigh who had earlier missed a good chance redeeming himself with the goal. James Cadogen with his goal making it all square at the break. Eden’s keeper Tom Potts kept Galaxy at bay with some good saves but was unlucky when a corner from James Longshaw took a deflection off him for the winning goal.
Man& Chorlton found themselves a goal down at home to Bosden Farm Rovers but a goal from Josh Coram got them level by half time. Chorlton took the lead when Joe Donaghue launched a log throw in into the Rovers area for Matt Eccles to head home. Rovers hit back and levelled the scores. What they could not do was deal with Donaghue’s long throw ins twice they failed to clear and giving Odair Mauricio and Eccles their chances to add the third and fourth goal.
Bosden Farm Albion had a comfortable win at home against Woodhouse Avengers. In the opening minutes only a good save from the Woodhouse keeper Gary Brisco kept out Amaan Zamad’s goal bound free kick. Always looking dangerous when they attacked Kyle Davidson opened the scoring. Nathan Pardy added a second. Zamad went close and again tested the keeper before he added a third just before half time. Woodhouse had more of the ball than they had in the first half but could not find that cutting edge around the home penalty area. At the other end a good move resulted in Hector Chisunke adding the fourth goal. Unfortunately for the Woodhouse defender Declan Aherne from Toby Davidson’s in swinging corner headed the ball into his own net, a goal he would have been proud of at the other end.
