Greeting from the Chairman

After a very difficult season particularly with fixtures which necessitated many evening games, the situation was not helped by the loss of Julie Shane due to ill health.

I do hope that you will join me in wishing her better health for the future.

Following Julie's resignation, it gives me great pleasure in welcoming Martin Fenton into the position and i sincerely hope all Clubs will give Martin every assistance as he acquires experience as an officer of our League.

The development of the League has been quite a headache as the loss of a number of Clubs has caused the restructure of many Divisions along with the wish of the Management Committee to reduce the size of the league and in doing so, ensuring that there are more teams in each Division.

This has meant the withdrawal of Division Seven, but it should ensure that Clubs have games to the end of the season and should make the competition for more competitive and hopefully allow the League to introduce a fairer promotion and relegation system in the future.

I would like to thank all the Officers of the League for there hours of contribution and please remember that without them you would not have a League to play in.

Also will you please act with courtesy and good manner in dealing with other Clubs AND the annual plea to you all to RESPECT the referees - the numbers for Sunday Football and a little thought by your players will undoubtedly help the situation immensely.

In closing may I wish you all a successful and happy season and if you have any problems or questions the please do not hesitate to contact your Officers - in particular Roger Gamble who is available during the day. A telephone call is always welcome.

Best wishes for the season.

Frank Connolly
Chairman
