A brief history of the League
The Milton Keynes & District Development League started life in 1992 as the Nursery Sevens Activity or N7A.
During the Summer of 92 a couple of clubs with nursery teams, organized a small nursery event.
From this event additional contacts were found who were thinking of setting up nursery football teams.
The Nursery Sevens Activity was the platform for clubs to develop nursery football teams, and to allow very young children to participate in their favourite sport.
The League continued to grow and eventually evolved into the Milton Keynes District and Developement League.
Encouraging Boys and Girls of all ages to enjoy football in an organized and safe environment.
The league have stayed true to the growth of mini soccer within MK and surrounding areas, and have embraced the growth of small sided football within the name change.
The committee has evolved over the years with the help of the Berks & Bucks County FA and under the guidance of previous Chairman Les Carr and Craig Pirie and todays committee is made up of representatives from many clubs.
The team has been assembled from a variety of backgrounds but all come from the local area and all strive for the same goal…….. To provide an efficient, friendly league giving the facility for children of all ages and backgrounds to play and enjoy football in a safe environment.
The League is continuing to expand and with 6,000 players we have been very busy looking at every aspect getting ready to make the improvements for the next season.
