Tavistock Specials Tom Wakenshaw sadly loses battle against long term illness
Tom Wakenshaw ,who played football for Tavistock Specials finally lost his battle against illness on Saturday 8th March.
Twenty six year old Tom was described by Allen Lewis ,founder of Tavistock Specials,as 'having an amazing talent as a footballer and loved seeing his nimble feet,quick turns on the pitch and his lethal finishing when he scored.'
Tom had previously played within the Plymouth Argyle Disability Squad and was widely loved around the Devon Ability Counts League especially with colleagues at Newton Abbot Soccability.
Tom joined Tavistock after his spell with Argyle and promptly helped the Specials to win the Devon FA Ability Counts League 2 in 2010.
Allen Lewis also said that 'it was a huge honour and privelige to have worked with Tom Wakenshaw and we will all miss him terribly'
All players,managers.staff and friends within the Devon FA Ability Counts Leagues in conjunction with everybody at Tavispecials wish to send their condolences to his wife and family.
