The FA Futsal Fives kicked off with plently of goals and actions in week 1, here are the match reports from the first night.

Match 1

Wrong Direction- 7 Joshua Keith 4, Ben Freir 2, Nick Pain 1

Purple Haze- 5 Adam Castlehouse 1, James Trotter 1, Marc Whaley 1, James Salter 2

The first match of the Devon FA Futsal Fives league started with an exciting end to end match. The game started quickly with a great one two move from Wrong Direction quickly making it 1-0 in the first 20 seconds. A scrappy corner followed a tap in to make it 2-0. Followed by a clever move down the left side, with a quality finish. Wrong direction piled on more pressure with positive play another creative move from the wing, with a back post finish 4-0. Purple Haze battled hard for each other throughout this period and deserved to pull a goal back 4-1. A great free kick hits the post with Purple Haze tapping in the re-bound 4-2. Sensing a comeback purple haze piled on the pressure fighting hard to secure another goal 4-3. Wrong Direction takes the 1st booking of the season for persistent fouling. Wrong Direction score a cheeky back heal to make it 5-3. An amazing goal by Purple Haze brought down on the head and scoring off the volley 5-4. The brilliant goal inspires Purple Haze to pull it back to 5-5 Game On, with minutes remaining! Wrong Direction show their quality with a quality 3 pass move 6-5. Wrong direction secures a last minute goal 7-5. Excellent game, with both teams playing excellent and exciting futsal.

Match 2

Totem Timber- 11 John Bulley 3, James Haskin 7, Charlie Roberts 1

Wasteman Elite – 6 Asaad 1, Anvash Devalpalli 3, Dipak 2

After ten minutes of a hard fought match, Totem made the break through with an excellent finish 1-0. Wasteman respond rapidly with a hard working goal bring the scores level.Wasteman work tirelessly and pick the ball up to dribble past the whole of defence 1-2. Totem hit cross bar and is finished off 2-2. Totem produce some decent futsaland clinically finish to take the lead 3-2. Wasteman battle hard for the equaliser and get caught on the break with a long ball 4-2. Token continue to attack fast and quickly make it 5-2, starting to pull away from Wasteman Elite. A great solo goal for Totem Timber makes it 6-2. Excellent wing play, followed by a great finish bottom corner 7-2. Penalty for Totem, top corner 8-2. Wasteman are working really hard and do not give it, showing great spirit. This pays of with a great team goal 8-3. Totem re-group and score a great team goal 9-3. Outrageous finish by Totem , top corner Screamer 10-3. The hardworking Wasteman score an impressive solo goal taking apart the whole team 10-4. Another good finish 10-5. Totem score at the death 11-6. Great end to end game played in excellent spirit.

Match 3

FC Furia Roja- 3 Mark Wiggins 2, Santiago Rodriguez 1

Gilbertelli Fun FC- 1 Sam Dingle, 1

FC Furia Roja opened the scoring in the first minute excellent goal struck into the top corner. Quickly FC Roja score another from a corner a cheeky flick makes it 2-0. The game is generally `exciting and hard throughout with Gilbertelli Fun Holding their own against an impressive FC Furia Roja. Though skilful pressure allows a string of shots from FC Furia Roja, means Gilbertelli Fun keeper is kept in permanent in employment, impressing everyone and keeping his team in the game. Gilbertelli Fun respond with decent attacking football, a great game to watch. The game heats up with whole hearted tackle being put in Gilbertelli Fun move up to 5 team Fouls the resulting penalty for FC Furia Roja but is shot wide! Gilbertelli Fun go up over end have a non-threating shot which creeps past the goalkeeper making it 2-1. FC Roja pressure pays off 3-1. An excellent game of futsal with both teams impressing through out.
