Week Ending 12th May

The CITY GOLDSMITH Combination League Champions, SAFFRON DYNAMO RES, completed their season with an hard fought 1-2 away win at 3rd placed SILEBY TOWN RES to finish 4 points clear at the top of the table after skipper Wes Johnson gave them a 0-2 buffer either side of half time. Sileby made a fist of it and put the Dynamo under the cosh towards the end and pulled 1 back through Reiss Simmis to make for an anxious last 5 minutes.
ALLEXTON & NEW PARKS finished their season with a goal feast in an 10-5 victory over INGLES RES, the majority of the goals arriving in the 2nd half as the team turned round with the score just 3-1.
Subs Layton Stimpson and Adam Wright scored a brace apiece and the home score sheet was completed by Jerome Agu, Rocky Greenwood, John Skinner, Craig Stocker, Adam Woods and Jamie Richardson. Jake Grifths and Joe Shaw hit a couple apiece for the visitors, added to by Michael Lowes as the visitor’s colours were lowered for the 1st time in 3 starts.
Allexton and Ingles meet again in the CITY GOLDSMITH Trophy final at Birstall Utd on Tuesday 15th May, perhaps there will be another goal feast?
