Allexton complete a double

ALLEXTON & NEW PARKS DEV SQUAD added the CITY GOLDSMITH Presidents Trophy to their silverware cabinet, alongside the CITY GOLDSMITH div 1 Runners up cup, with a comprehensive 5-1 defeat of INGLES RES at the ever improving Birstall Utd., Meadow Lane Stadium last night. In front of a crowd of over 100, the Parks pinned back Ingles but it was 10 minutes before half time when Tom Woods broke the deadlock with a brave close range header whilst under pressure from a defender and the keeper. Luke Higgins then doubled the advantage, just before the break when he chipped the keeper for a 2-0 half time lead. Ingles started the 2nd half with renewed vigor but the Parks leading scorer Pele Molyneaux was not to be ignored on the night and he opened his account as the game became more open. Molyneaux went on to complete his hat trick, and just miss out on the golden boot with 18 goals for the season, that going to Wes Johnson of Saffron Dynamo with 22. However, the goal of the night for me came from Korpal Squedke who smashed in an unstoppable free kick to bring the score back to 4-1, a small consolation for the Ingles.
