Ellistown put 1 hand on the crown.
Leaders Ellistown put 1 hand on the crown with a midweek 4-0 defeat of Narborough and Littlethorpe and a Saturday thrashing of Hathern 8-0, leading scorer Kev Dunn adding 5 goals to his personal tally over the 2 games, whilst Rich Andrews netted a brace in midweek and Ash Day a pair against Hathern.
Sidelined Saffron Dynamo remain in 2nd spot, 15 points adrift, whilst Asfordby Amateurs maintained their outside promotion hopes with a 3-2 defeat of bottom placed FC Khalsa. In the event of the wheels falling off at Ellistown, the only club mathematically able to equal the current leaders? points tally is Ashby Ivanhoe who stayed in the race with a 7-3 defeat of Anstey Nomads after Lee Croxall netted a brace.
Bardon Hill Sports moved into the top 6 with a 1-2 away win at Cottesmore Amateurs and Narborough and Littlethorpe fought back from being 1-2 down at the break to share the points in a 3-3 draw with Huncote Sports and Social who had Lee Biggs in target with a couple.
Ravenstone and Dunton and Broughton Rangers moved a further point away from the bottom 2 with a 0-0 draw.
