Barrow Town ensured of at least a top 2 finish,

Barrow Town?s quest to retain the City Goldsmith championship took a huge bound forward after 2 victories within 48 hours ensured them of at least a top 2 finish, only Ibstock Utd capable of passing their existing points tally. Barrow won 0-2 in midweek at Constabulary and then emphasized the gulf between top and bottom with a 0-6 away win at bottom 2 placed Aylestone Park, Tom Allsop hit 4 and Scot McClennan 2. Ibstock stayed on course with a 0-1 away win at top 6 opponents Anstey Town, and Thurmaston Town, who for so long looked candidates for the top spot, may have to settle for 3rd sponsor spot after a 0-2 away win at St Andrews.

Birstall Utd, after 2 successive defeats, could snatch 3rd place after their 0-3 away win at Blaby and Whetstone, all the goals coming in the 2nd half.

Mathematically, the bottom 8 are involved in the relegation scrap with Lutterworth Athletic and Aylestone Park the current holders of the relegation positions.

Rothley Imps eased their fears with a midweek 1-0 victory over St Andrews, who at the top of group should be safe.

Leicestershire Constabulary picked up a point at Sileby Town with a 3-3 draw and Downes Sports moved out of the bottom 3, on goal difference over Ratby Sports, with a 1-1 draw at Highfield Rangers who may just retain a top 6 spot.
