Leaders beaten, Thurmaston Town surge to the top.

Thurmaston Town surged to the top of div1 when they nicked a win at Blaby and Whetstone Athletic and the morning?s leaders, champions Barrow Town, were surprising beaten at bottom placed Lutterworth Athletic. Thurmaston looked as though they were going to be held to a draw at Blaby but took the 3 points with a last minute winner for a 1-2 away victory.

Lutterworth Athletic, on the back of 2 successive wins, moved off the bottom peg, with a 3-2 victory over Barrow Town. They scored the only goal in the 2nd half, to post their 2nd home victory and end Barrow?s unbeaten away record. Ibstock Utd maintained their top 3 presence, but they remain 8 points back of Barrow, who with 3 games in hand are 1 point adrift of the leaders, after a double from Martin Emery helped them to erase the defeat at Barrow last time out, with a 4-0 defeat of Kirby Muxloe.

Anstey Town lost further ground on the leaders when they were soundly beaten at home by Birstall Utd, 0-6, as Aaron Sweeney led the line with a brace to make it 6 wins on the spin and a top 6 place.

A Scott Harvey double, 1 in each half eased Ratby Sports relegation fears with a 2-0 defeat of Highfield Rangers and Leicestershire Constabulary made it 3 successive draws on the road with a 2-2 result at St Andrews. In the basement 6 pointer, Downes Sports just edged past Aylestone Park 1-2 to stay out of the bottom 2.
