Week Ending 14th April

On Wednesday evening April 11th at Birstall Utd Social Club the Leicestershire Senior League voted to allow the inclusion of the CITY GOLDSMITH COMBINATION into its ranks. After next season there will be promotion and relegation between all 3 divisions as the Senior league strive to complete a County wide single structure. This will provide its clubs a competitive pathway from grass roots recreational football to Senior league Non League regulated competition with the opportunity to be automatically promoted to step 6 on completion of reaching the top of the EVERARDS PREMIER DIVISION.
There is no agreement with the other open aged football leagues in the County.
On Saturday however, only 1 game was played in the CITY GOLDSMITH LEAGUE as SILEBY TOWN RES completed a 3-1 defeat of INGLES RES after Luke Denham converted a penalty and Parees Bhima together with Jason Newbold completed the home score line,. Sam Mott scored what turned out to be a consolation for the visitors.
Leaders SAFFON DYNAMO RES were involved in the rebadged CITY GOLDSMITH TROPHY and turned round 5-0 victors over COTTESMORE AMATEURS RES on their quest for a league and cup double. Lewis Towe broke the deadlock which was added to by Jake Smith before half time. Towe went on to complete his hat trick before Golden boot contender, and current leader, Wes Johnson scored the final goal that took him to the top of the leaders board, 1 in front of his colleague Jamie Mitchell.
