County Cup weekend

County Cup weekend arrived for the Goldsmith sides with a number pitched against EVERARDS DIV1 sides.
BIRSTALL UTD RES travelled to HATHERN DEV SQUAD and quickly sprint to a 0-4 half time lead as James Reay, Michael Simon, Liam Stafford and Peter Plumb found their shooting range. However, the Dev Squad hit back with an OG and a goal from Josh Barr to finish 2-4 down.
DESFORD
. travelled to close neighbours BARLESTONE ST GILES RES and come away with a 1-2 victory courtesy of a 2nd half double from Simon Goodman after Scot Colclough had given the hosts an interval lead.
In the cross county ties there were mixed fortunes as LOUGHBOROUGH RES got a hammering from GLENFIELD TOWN 0-8, who bagged 4 in each half and SILEBY TOWN RES went down 5-1 at NORTH KILWORTH despite a goal from Ford Taylor. OADBY TOWN RES destroyed INGLES RES 7-0 and DESFORD DEV SQUAD made a fist of it before going down 2-5 to DUNTON & BROUGHTON UTD RES who paved the way with goals from Connor Laughtonx2; Alex Fox, Sam Wallis, and an OG. The Dev squad were 0-2 down at the break and scored through Tom Gaunt and Adam Willet.
There were some notable successes as SAFFRON DYNAMO Res came through at DUNTON & BROUGHTON UTD, 3-7 after extra time. The final score was 3-3 after the Dynamo had come back from 2-1 down at the break and finished with goals from Jack Smith x3. Jamie Mitchell x2 off the bench, Nick Smith and an OG.
ALLEXTON & NEW PARKS DEV SQUAD saw off HUNCOTE SPORTS AND SOCIAL 2-1 after Harry Bradley and Luke Higgins scored a goal in each half and
COTTESMORE AMATEURS RES returned from SPORTING MARKFIELD as 3-4 winners after an hat trick from Tom Atkins added to by Carl Hamnett put them into the next round hat
