Desford drop points

Desford continued their chase of the Div2 title but dropped their 1st points in 7 starts when they were held to a 3-3 draw by St Andrews. Marc Asman hit an hat trick for the Andrews in reply to goals from Shaun Hunt, Sam Spence and an Ellis Benjamen penalty after the Andrews led 1-0 at the break. Bardon Hill Sports continued their quest for the top spot with an 8-1 thumping of Asfordby Amateurs after Dave Wozencroft helped his goal scoring for the season to 18 with 4 on the day. Ryan Thornley-2, Tom Kelly and Nick Cosmet completed the early kick off Bardon scoring whilst Mitch Noble replied for the Amateurs. Highfield Rangers kept a grip on a top 3 spot with a 4-0 defeat of Narborough & Littlethorpe after a Celson Patrocinio brace and goals from Tim Bond and Sloan Francis gave them 2 goals in each half and Lutterworth Town upset the form book with a 3-2 defeat of Barlestone St Giles who were on the back of 6 wins on the spin. Lutterworth posted their 1st win in 12 starts after going 3-0 up through Ant Zupp, a Ryan Ellingworth penalty and a 3rd through Mason Bradshaw. Tony Herd pulled 2 back for Barlestone in the last 20 minutes but Lutterworth held out for a very valuable 3 points that keeps them away from the bottom 2. Dunton & Broughton Rangers ambushed Belgrave after leading 1-0 at half time through Luke Marshall. An Og with a reply from Stu Kopaszel gave Dunton their 2nd home win on the spin 2-1 ending Belgrave’s unbeaten run of 6 and Caterpillar rescued a point in a 1-1 at FC Khalsa after Gordon Wright had given the home team a 1-0 half time advantage.
