ALLEXTON & NEW PARKS DEV SQUAD moved in behind CITY GOLDSMITH COMBINATION LEAGUE leaders Saffron Dynamo Res after a 2-0 defeat of BARLESTONE ST GILES RES when Layton Goodwin and sub James Hussey scored a goal in each half to send their visitors to their 2nd successive defeat and a drop of 2 places in the table to 5th.
INGLES edged out a much improved LOUGHBOROUGH RES 3-0 for their 1st win in 4 starts after Tyler Withers hit a couple and Mark Etherington rounded off the scoring for the home side.
There was a high scoring game at DESFORD DEV SQUAD, who took a point in a 4-4 draw with COTTESMORE AMATEURS who looked likely to take all 3 points until a late OG. Tom Atkins broke the deadlock for the visitors 10 minutes in, Nat Clarke equalised 10 minutes later before Atkins restored the Amateurs lead. However, the lead changed hands again as Adrian Kuzel and Clarke, on the stroke of half time, netted for the home side for them to go in 3-2 up. The Amateurs regained the initiative 10 minutes into the 2nd half when Jamie Hunt restored parity and an OG 2 minutes later gave them the edge and the chance of their 1st win in 4 starts, which was dashed in the 2nd minute of injury time.
HATHERN DEV SQUAD posted their 1st points of this campaign with a 3-0 defeat of bottom placed FC GNG RES after Chris Belton and Lee Fisher gave them a 2-0 half time lead. Andy Weaver netted the lone 2nd half goal that confirmed the 1st home win.
